Zoe keeps a small herd of dairy goats which as well as showing at local agricultural shows, also runs ‘Moorend Moisturisers’. Using her own herd’s goats milk, Zoe, produces luxurious hand creams, body moisturisers and soaps. It is wonderful to meet a small holder who is so passionate about her stock and turning her passion into a kitchen table business, producing a quality product which is in high demand.
Goat’s milk has become more recognised in skin care in recent years due to its amazing benefits to the skin. It is known for its delicate moisturising properties for dry and problem skin.
Quite often commercial creams contain ingredients that can irritate the skin and are potentially carcinogenic. The ingredients I use are all natural, plant based, animal friendly and safe for the skin.
The creams are made up using a combination of water, milk, oils and waxes which are bought together using an emulsifier.
It is often in commercial creams that the emulsifier contains irritant chemicals such as petroleum of sodium lauryl sulphate which is a harsh detergent.
Therefore I only use naturally occurring emulsifiers derived from coconut oil, lactic and steric acid. All are suitable for vegetarians.
Rectory Farm, Bale, Fakenham.
On Thursday 26th March 2020 my family, the goats, chickens and dogs all moved 8 miles to Rectory Farm, Bale.
We will eventually be renovating a lovely barn to live in.
Of course the animals came first. My husband has very hastily converted another barn in the last week for the goats/milking parlour.
A smaller barn is being converted into the Moorend Moisturisers kitchen.
Whilst this is all going on kids are being born too!!
